Sport Premium
Sports Premium Funding 2013-2024
The government is providing additional funding to improve the provision of physical education (P.E.) and sport in primary schools.
This money is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of P.E. and sport in schools. This years sports premium grant is £18,730.
At Theydon Bois Primary School we spend the additional funding on improving the provision and standard of P.E. and sport.
As a school we take pride in being able to provide a wide range of opportunities in P.E. and Sport across the key stages. Pupils have participated competitively in Football, Tag Rugby, Netball, Athletics, Swimming, Gymnastics and much more. We have a range of extra-curricular sports activities available to all pupils with thanks to outside coaches and the time generously given by school staff.
We spend our allocation of the Sports Premium Funding in a variety of ways, including:
- a specialist swimming instructor;
- CPD courses;
- New P.E. equipment;
- extra-curricular clubs;
- subscribing to the West Essex School Sports Partnership (WESSP) to:
- provide opportunities to compete/participate in a range of sporting events;
- facilitate access to CPD for staff;
- provide targeted events for SEN, PPG pupils;
- provide expert coaching/mentoring for schools;
- an SSCO to run intra-house competitions.
Further information regarding the funding and its impact on pupil’s attainment in P.E. will be reported via the School Gallery and School Games pages on the website.
